West Indies vs India 3rd T20 Highlights 2023

The West Indies cricket team took on India in the 3rd and final T20I of the series at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. After losing the first two matches, the Windies were looking to end the series on a high, but it was not to be as they went down by six wickets in the end.


Chasing a target of 170, the Indian team got off to a great start as openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put on a quick-fire partnership of 60 runs. Sharma was the first to go, caught by Kieron Pollard off the bowling of Sheldon Cottrell for 32.


Dhawan and Virat Kohli then took the team home with an unbeaten stand of 109 runs. Dhawan top-scored with 70* off just 45 balls, while Kohli made a patient 49* off 37 balls.


For the West Indies, Cottrell was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Oshane Thomas and Kesrick Williams claimed one wicket each.


Earlier in the day, the West Indies had got off to a great start in their innings as openers Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons put on a quick-fire partnership of 85 runs.


Lewis was the first to go, caught by Virat Kohli off the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal for 45. Simmons and Nicholas Pooran then took the team past the 150-mark with a quick-fire partnership of 37 runs.


However, the Indian bowlers fought back well in the death overs as they restricted the Windies to 169/6 in their 20 overs. Chahal was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur claimed two wickets each.


In the end, the Indian team chased down the target with ease to win the match by six wickets and seal the series 3-0.

1. West Indies Wins Third T20 Against India


The West Indies cricket team won the third and final T20I against India by 67 runs to take the series 2-1 on Sunday.


Chasing a target of 208, India were bowled out for 140 in 19 overs. Shikhar Dhawan top-scored for India with 47 off 28 balls while Rishabh Pant made 39 off 28. For the West Indies, Oshane Thomas was the pick of the bowlers with 4/27 while Kieron Pollard, Sheldon Cottrell, and Kesrick Williams picked up two wickets each.


Earlier, the West Indies posted a massive total of 207/5 on the back of half-centuries from Lendl Simmons (67 off 45 balls) and Nicholas Pooran (62 not out off 28 balls). For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most successful bowler with 2/37.


With this win, the West Indies have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

2. Highlights of the Match


The third and final T20 between West Indies and India was a nail-biter. The game went down to the wire, with both teams having a chance to win in the final over. In the end, it was West Indies who prevailed, winning by just two runs.


There were many highlights throughout the match, but here are two of the most noteworthy.


The first highlight was when Rishabh Pant was dismissed for a duck in the final over. This was a crucial moment in the match, as India needed Pant to score runs in order to win. However, he was unable to do so, and West Indies ended up winning the match as a result.


The second highlight was when Kieron Pollard hit a six to win the match for West Indies. This was an incredible shot, and it ensured that West Indies won the match in dramatic fashion.

3. India’s Poor Performance in the Third T20


India’s performance in the third T20 against West Indies was very poor. India lost the match by 67 runs and the series by 2-1.


This is India’s second-worst defeat in T20Is. The worst defeat was by 84 runs against New Zealand in 2009.
